After the dust settled on the afternoon games on Sunday, Miami Dolphins Ndamukong Suh was making headlines for kicking Washington Redskins running back Alfred Morris in the head. A video surfaced of a play where Suh allegedly tackled Morris then stepped over him and kicked him on the way out removing his helmet.

The league reviewed the incident today and have decided that there was no evidence of malicious intent on the part of Suh. There will be no fine or suspension. A close look at the play, in slow motion, showed sue lifting his right leg to step away from the runner who was lying on the ground. He got tangled a small bit as he stepped away from the action. Morris’ helmet can be seen coming off.

Suh has had a history of on-field infractions including a final week 17 game last year where he stepped on the arm of Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He was suspended one game for the incident but later had the suspension reduced to a fine. In this incident it appeared more a media driven issue.

The Dolphins, who signed Suh in the off-season are aware of the troubles that Suh has faced on the field. This however turns out to be a non-incident issue.

In a somewhat related issue, the Washington Redskins have “kicked” the head off their kicker. It’s being reported today that the Redskins will release place-kicker Kai Forbath after he missed a 47 yard field goal in yesterday’s game. The field goal would not have made the difference in the contest but the Redskins are reeling after giving up a late surge to the Dolphins. Miami scored the game winning touchdown on Jarvis Landry’s 69 yard punt return. Which obviously had nothing to do with Forbath.

The Dolphins travel again this week up the road to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars.
