The group of 2016 NFL free agency receivers is a good one but the Miami Dolphins don’t have an immediate need for one. In fact they may go through free agency without addressing the position until later in the off-season.

More from Dolphins News

With Rishard Matthews an impending free agent and Greg Jennings likely to be cut to save his salary the Dolphins will enter the off-season with DeVante Parker, Matt Hazel, Kenny Stills, and Jarvis Landry as the primary members of the roster. Hazel is largely unproven.

If the Dolphins do decide to go the free agent route they will avoid the top two tiers of free agency and potentially focus on one or maybe two of these ten players.

Reuben Randle – NYG. Randle is past is only 24 years old and could thrive in a new environment.

Marvin Jones – Bengals. At 25 years old and a familiar face to former Bengals defensive backs coach and now Miami DC Vance Joseph, Jones could be an option to replace Jennings.

Ricardo Lockette – Seattle. Lockette is 29 years old so his next contract is going to be much lower and his production with the Seahawks has been average but consistent.

Kamar Aiken – Baltimore. Aiken has had some pretty good games with the Ravens but he is likely going to land somewhere that he will be part of the top three receivers on the team. Miami is not likely going to be looking for a top three receiver.

Jermaine Kearse – Seattle. Like Lockette, Kearse has been consistently average with the Seahawks but is a little younger, 26 than Lockette.

Brian Quick – Rams. Quick is 26 years old and has never developed into the receiver that many thought he would but he is a value receiver who can make plays when put onto the field. Miami needs a veteran that could be more productive than Jennings.

Lance Moore – NO. With the Saints parting ways with Moore, he will hit free agency at 32 years old. Moore is no longer a deep threat is more or less now a possession receiver. Moore has good hands and could be a four set receiver for Miami.

Brandon Tate – Bengals. Tate was one of those players that fantasy football participants picked up and dropped often throughout the last two seasons. He has some good games left in him but not as a starter.

Marc Mariani – Chicago. At 28 years old Mariani isn’t going to get a lot of looks from NFL teams early in free agency or late in free agency for that matter. He isn’t a standout but he does know the Adam Gase system.

Dontrelle Inman – Chargers. Inman was a solid player in spot duty for the Chargers after the teams receiving group was decimated by injuries. He is reliable and hard working and would be a solid addition as a 4th or 5th receiver.
