More from Dolphins News

What can Dolphins fans expect? For starters, the Dolphins should open the season on the road and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them open with two on the road for the second consecutive season. Last year the Dolphins requested the schedule as such to allow more time to finish the renovations to the stadium.

Miami is in phase three of their renovations now putting the canopy on the stadium and adding the digital video boards to the four corners. Last year Miami was granted the request to give them more time and opened with two road games before returning home in week three and then traveling to London in week four.

The Dolphins will play at least one primetime game as each team is slotted in a minimum of one Thursday night contest. Their record in 2015 may not be good enough to get them much more than two with one likely coming on a Monday night.

In addition to the primetime games the final month of the season will be important as media and fans alike breakdown the opponents that they will be playing down the stretch. With the Dolphins wrapping up renovations, it’s also possible that the team could have an early bye week again in 2016 as well.

Miami will play home and away games against their three divisional opponents as well as games against the Browns, Steelers, Cardinals, 49ers and Titans at home and will travel to face the Ravens, Bengals, Rams, Seahawks, and Chargers.

The Dolphins have three west coast games this year now that the Rams have moved to Los Angeles so it will be interesting to see if the schedule provides them with any back-to-back games on the west coast. Ideally having two weeks in California to face the Rams and Chargers would be ideal as the Dolphins could stay on the west coast with little change to travel.

The NFL is expected to release the schedule Thursday night at 8:00 eastern but it’s likely that many parts of the schedule will be leaked throughout the day. We will make sure you are up to date on those leaks as they happen, either rumored or factual.
