Foster was placed on the PuP list Friday morning, the start of training camp. The Dolphins did not release whether Foster had failed his conditioning test or if the placement was a result of his rehab efforts for his Achilles injury.
This morning, Foster was released from the PuP list and is now ready to return to practice. The question is in what capacity. Foster has been recovering since last season but there have been som hiccups along the way. He declared himself 100% prior to the start of camp.
Over the last two seasons Foster has had a hard time staying healthy. Two years ago he made the Pro-Bowl rushing for over 1,000 yards despite missing time with injuries. The Dolphins are hoping he can return to that form.
Miami is starting Jay Ajayi, who has had a history of injuries as well. He missed the start of last season with a chest injury and most of his senior season in college. Daniel Thomas, Isaiah Pead, and rookie Kenyan Drake are also trying to impress coaches. Damien Williams remains on the PuP list.
The Dolphins are entering day three of camp but thus far camp has been skill drills with no contact. The Dolphins are expected to hold their first contact practices early this week. Then we will see how much work Foster is given.
