Tonight is Miami’s first Preseason game against the New York Giants. Miami will have an opportunity to show the work that they have been putting in all offseason. This will be the first time for many fans to see what Adam Gase’s offense and Vance Joseph’s defense will look like. There will be a lot of pressure on the players to perform, but three in particular need to have good nights.
Tony Lippett– Tony Lippett has been the starting cornerback opposite of Byron Maxwell for much of training camp. His play has been inconsistent at best and only saw chances back to start once Chimdi Chekwa was injured. Lippett will need to perform well in order to prove that he is ready to start for the Miami Dolphins defense. If Lippett want’s to keep his starting position he needs to stay in position and not allow big plays behind him.

Bobby McCain– Bobby McCain has been on and off the field due to injuries all offseason. He is fighting to win the starting nickel cornerback position and has played well when he has opportunities. McCain will have the chance to prove that he is more than just a nickel corner when he starts opposite of Tony Lippett on the perimiter.
Jordan Lucas- Jordan Lucas is a talented young player that needs to prove himself and separate from the pack of cornerbacks. He will need to show up in special teams and when he gets opportunities in reserve in order to earn more playing time. Look for Lucas to stick to his assignment and not bite on big plays.
