Miami Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi to return for New England game
By Brian Miller
The Miami Dolphins’ Jay Ajayi missed the opening weekend game because of his attitude after being demoted to 2nd string. He will rejoin the team this week.

Ajayi was told by Adam Gase that Arian Foster would start for the Miami Dolphins and Jay Ajayi was visibly upset leading Gase to leave him in Miami last Sunday. Gase told the media that Ajayi is starting fresh this week.
"“He’s back in meetings. He’s back in the building. We left him back. That was my decision and we’ve cleaned that up. We’ll move past that and basically this is a new day for him today.”"
Now with the tantrum behind him the team can look towards New England with a full load at running back. Last week the Dolphins kept Damien Williams and Kenyan Drake active for the game it’s unlikely Miami keep four active which likely will mean Drake will not dress on Sunday.
Ajayi struggled through most of the pre-season but the Dolphins offensive line didn’t play well either. Last Sunday against a very solid Seattle front, the Dolphins could not reach the 100 yard mark rushing and Foster only gained 38 yards on the day.
Against New England, Arizona running back David Johnson gained 89 yards on 16 attempts. There are yards to be had against the Patriots. New England opened up a lead early and that forced the Cardinals to abandon the run. In total the Cardinals only ran the ball 19 times compared to 37 passing attempts.
Last Sunday the Dolphins only used Damien Williams for two rushing plays. Ryan Tannehill added five carries himself. Foster carried the bulk of the team rushing attempts with a paultry 13. Perhaps the presence of Jay Ajayi could help to balance the offense a bit more.
Regardless of what happens Ajayi is back and needs to so more maturity in his actions and needs to put a poor pre-season behind him and move on.
