The unexpected re-emergence of Jay Ajayi
Jay Ajayi had the unfortunate experience of being the first player to be in and out of the dog house. Adam Gase put him there for one game and now he returns. Gase also made comments that Ajayi is doing everything right and has a clean slate.
We will go over implications as well as any expectations and golden opportunities that might present themselves for Jay Ajayi.

Not many are expecting Jay Ajayi to be a phoenix rising from the ashes including the Pats. Should he do so however it could be a key factor in coming away with an unexpected road win. There are a few openings afforded to Jay Ajayi, one is that the Pats allowed running yards last game. The other opening is the 2nd RB spot that offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen claims is wide open.
Consequently Jay Ajayi could even set his sights higher because frankly no one has shown enough to be the workhorse. Arian Foster had 13 carries for 38 yards averaging just under 3 yards per attempt. Foster was limited in practice Wednesday with hamstring and the Dolphins decided to give him all further padded practices off. This leaves Ajayi as the only back in a room of five to not have hamstring issues.
RB Arian Foster is a proven and experienced back so it is fitting he is the top dog at the moment. He does have a history of injury however and is over the age of 30 leading to a maintenance routine. If ever there was a time for Jay Ajayi to prove himself and showcase his talents it would be now.
New head coach Adam Gase made plains having all around backs that can rotate along with sets likely to be no huddle fashion.
“The best laid plans of mice and men often go astray”. The longer the running game falters the more we get to see how set in his ways Gase is.
Some ongoing recurring problems for the Dolphins have been short yardage pick ups along with red zone scoring. A move to power running could go a long ways toward both of those hindrances. Karlos Williams is available hint, hint. He had seven rushing touchdowns last season. Gained weight was a factor for his release which might even help goal line runs for the Miami Dolphins.
Ryan Tannehill had a TD with a QB draw last game. He also had an elbow jarred into him doing so. Don’t risk his health. Get a bruiser back to do this along with those pesky short yard pick ups. Go situational, churn the bottom of the roster.
