The Miami Dolphins still have 11 weeks of football in front of them. They can likely expect to win maybe 2 more games at the rate they are playing. Changes need to be made on the roster.

More from Phin Phanatic

Following the 2016 season the Dolphins must give head coach Adam Gase every chance to succeed and that goes for Vance Joseph as well. Joseph is a 3-4 defensive coach trying to make a 4-3 work because of the roster make-up on defense.

It has to stop.

The Dolphins are void of any top talent except in about four of five spots. There is no questioning the play of Ndamukong Suh, Jarvis Landry, and Reshad Jones. Laremy Tunsil is someone to build around and Xavien Howard is looking sharp early. Then? Whether a player is getting too old or have peaked in their potential, the Dolphins need to consider moving on.

Taking a look at the roster, the Dolphins could easily shake things up and simply start over and that is exactly what they should do. There is no more finding pieces to the puzzle. Break it down, get the edges done and build towards the middle where Jones, Landry, and Suh are sitting while being wasted.

Here are 10 players that the Dolphins really need to move on from in 2017 and our final slide will list the players that Miami should also part ways with.

Cameron Wake

2017 salary

$7 million

If released

$3 million dead money

$4 million cap savings

I know the fans love him but I’m not on board with Cameron Wake as many others are. I simply have never seen the consistency from him that others claim. I do not view Wake as an emotional leader. I wouldn’t put him in the same breath as a Ray Lewis in terms of leadership.

Wake is around because he sells tickets. He is a face and a name. I have seen that face and name quit. In person, 10 yards away. Wake has a great skill set but he is now limited to 3rd down duties and pass rushing. Why? Because he isn’t worth his weight in run stopping. As a defensive end, Wake can’t hold or set the edge anymore and he carries a high price tag to be a specialist.

There were a few seasons when Wake was making the most out of the talent around him but when things began to falter around him, Wake struggled. Last season Wake tore his Achilles’ tendon and continued the play endearing himself to the fans. For every play like that, there are several of him not.

I like Cameron Wake but it’s time to move on and if the Dolphins could trade him now, they absolutely should.
