Mike Pouncey

2017 Salary

$8.9 million

If released

$5 million dead money

$3.75 cap savings

The Dolphins cap situtation with Pouncey is such that they can’t really release him and the figures for a post-June 1st cut are not available with certainty. Pouncey can’t seem to stay on the field as he is battling injuries.

A problem with Pouncey is his not a road grading center, he is a finesse center who is athletic. So why is on this list? Well the Dolphins should seriously consider moving him to guard for the 2017 season allowing him to play right guard, a position Miami can’t get right.

Pouncey gives the Dolphins a quick moving guard that can pull and trap and has solid qualities as a leader. Still the Dolphins have to start looking for a replacement. He simply isn’t a very good run blocking center and maybe with a move to guard, he can be better.

It was only a couple of seasons ago that Pouncey made the Pro-Bowl as a right guard. Moving Pouncey could be the answer to the Dolphins offensive line problems are at least part of a solution.
