The Miami Dolphins are done with their 2017 season and they have to be thrilled that this year is behind them.

Miami’s season was filled with drama and little else as the team weaved in and out of the months that ticked off to 2018. Entering the 2017 calendar year the Dolphins were riding high on their first playoff birth since 2008. Matt Moore could not generate the offense needed to take the team past Pittsburgh in the opening round and Miami’s playoffs came to an early exit.

As the off-season began the first domino would fall when defensive coordinator Vance Joseph would be hired to take over the Denver Broncos, his first head coaching job. Miami would replace him with linebackers coach Matt Burke.

The decision to promote Burke made sense at the time but a year later his name is one of a few that could be in line for replacement.
