The Miami Dolphins felt they needed to trade Jay Ajayi back in October and apparently the hurt feelings are still there. At least for Ajayi.

After the Super Bowl LII game concluded Ajayi was seen walking with the British flag around his shoulders. A proud moment for both the running back and the country he was raised in. Fans all over social media sent out their congratulations and well wishes for the running back they used to cheer for and did again on Sunday night.

At a time when Ajayi should be focusing on his winning season and that of his teammates, in the back of his head he was still hurt from the trade that sent him to Philly. Was still hurt about the mean things that were said in the media about his character. Still mad at Adam Gase. So naturally he took to social media to call them out.

The image was posted by Ajayi on his Instagram page and clearly he took his shots at the Dolphins. Specifically Adam Gase. In doing so, he gives a much clearer picture of the inner child that so many in South Florida apparently saw from him while in Miami.

Ajayi is a very good runner and while he didn’t rack up the best totals on Super Bowl Sunday, he was still a player that Miami fans rooted for. And they should. But the reality here is that far more was going on behind the scenes than Jay Ajayi wants you to know about.

Some in the local media made it a point following the game to post messages on social media like, “yeah the Miami Dolphins really showed Jay Ajayi” or “Miami sure made an example of Ajayi”. Those however would be wrong.

The fact that after the Super Bowl, the games biggest game and stage, a former Dolphins running back is taking shots at his former team instead of celebrating his new team’s accomplishment. How hard and honestly more in your face would that picture of have been had he just said, “Thank you Miami!”

At 24 years old Jay Ajayi has a lot of growing up to do and frankly his growth will come somewhere else. He will enter the final year of his contract in 2018, a rookie deal that pays him around $700,000 for the season. He better hope he has a great 2018 or that contract he wants won’t be for what he wants.

On a serious note, we are happy for you J-Train. Congratulations on winning the Super Bowl and beating the Patriots. Have a great career as well but here in Miami, we are fine with Kenyan Drake and fine without your immaturity as well.
