Miami Dolphins can wear three throwbacks this season! Will they?
By Brian Miller
The NFL has decided that teams can wear throwback uniforms three times a year now and that means the Miami Dolphins could sport their old logo for another game in 2018.
Now that the Miami Dolphins can wear the old logo three times the question is will they? There is a lot of discussion as it relates to the Miami Dolphins and their logo. Most fans want a full return to the uniforms worn in the late ’60’s and 70’s but the Dolphins don’t appear to be in a rush to join them.
Earlier this off-season the Dolphins unveiled uniform changes that brought back the brighter orange and far less navy blue. In addition the powder blue seems to have gotten darker as well. But is that enough? It pleased many fans in that it had a better feel for the old but until the helmet logo changes, fans will not be satisfied.
This brings us back to the retro uniforms.
The Dolphins have worn the uniforms twice each season and typically will wear them in a primetime game. CEO Tom Garfinkel has not responded to some fans questions on Twitter regarding whether the team is going to go with three this year.

It is likely that the team will don the uniforms three times which then brings up the question would they actually go all white? The all-white throwbacks are probably the coolest uniform in the NFL’s history and seeing the Dolphins in that uniform could really be a crowd pleaser.
If there is one thing that I disagree with Stephen Ross about is the logo. It should be the old style but understandably Ross tried to modernize his teams look and spent a lot of money to do so. With the changes made this year, he took a step towards bridging the past to the present but it will now be another five years before changes can be made.
With so many fans wanting the change to be permanent and the Dolphins not giving them that, the least they can do is where it for the three games they are allowed.
