Can the Miami Dolphins win at home against the Jaguars

Can the Miami Dolphins pick themselves up and win at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars?
Week 16 has arrived and the (7-7) Miami Dolphins are going to host the (4-10) Jacksonville Jaguars at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday December 23 at 1:00pm.
The Miami Dolphins come into this match up still trying to scratch and claw their way into the last wildcard spot, but it will be a very difficult scenario and a lot of crazy things would have to happen, but technically it is still a possibility, but it is highly unlikely one.
So the .500 squad of south Florida, the Miami Dolphins are set to play the reeling Jacksonville Jaguars in what could be a very entertaining game. Jacksonville has had a very disappointing season this year, as they had high expectations this season after falling a game short from a Superbowl appearance last season. They are coming in off a close loss to Washington last weekend and the Miami Dolphins are still licking their wounds from an absolute drubbing they took from the Vikings and are trying to win out the rest of the season.
The Jekyll and Hyde team that is the Miami Dolphins will be hosting this game and have two things going in their favor. The first one is they are very tough to play in front of their home crowd, going 6-1 this season on their home turf. The second one is they will be sporting their throwback uniforms again and have they have gone undefeated while wearing them this season.

The injury bug, unfortunately, just keeps pounding on the Miami Dolphins this season and now has taken Frank Gore away from the team with a season ending foot injury. So the youngsters in Drake and Ballage will need to handle the ground attack for the team Sunday. The Tennessee Titans rushed all over this Jacksonville defense and utilized the screen pass very well against them too. The Washington Redskins also had success with the screen game against this Jags defense, so this game looks to be set up beautifully for both Kenyan Drake and Kalen Ballage’s style and skill-set.
Ryan Tannehill continues to play through a slew of his own injuries but has had a very inconsistent season when he has been on the field. The Miami Dolphin quarterback took an absolute beating at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings. I think every defensive player had a sack on the Dolphins qb last Sunday, of course I’m kidding, but Ryan Tannehill did take nine sacks in that defeat. Jacksonville will definitely be bringing the heat against Miamis qb, so some quick short passes will help to nullify that attack, and the usual amount of flat routes or bubble screens will be called by head coach Adam Gase in hopes that the young speedy backfield can get some “YAC” yards and move the chains.
Jacksonville should have a tough time through the air against the Dolphins back-end, but concern’s will most likely be focused on Fournette and Yeldon who could carve up the thin defensive front of Miami. This Miami Dolphins team has had some major issues against the run this season and I expect the Jags to run right at them all day long. The carousel of quarterbacks Jacksonville has been going through as of late helps to solidify that theory as well. The Jacksonville Jaguars offensive line is really not very good and if the Dolphins ever thought about applying some pressure, this would be the highest chance to have success with it. Although it has been very rare this season, I don’t really expect the front to be able to do it alone, some creative blitz packages will be a big help for getting to the Jacksonville qb in this game.
I still expect the Miami Dolphins to come out and try to deliver a victory in this game. They will bring a hundred percent effort as thy have shown to be a scrappy, never die team and never give up bunch. I suspect there could be some changes coming to this team in the near future, especially if they drop an egg in this contest. There not only playing for a shot at the post season but potentially their career in south Florida as well.
