Josh Boyer – Defensive passing game coordinator/defensive backs

Boyer is another coach that Flores has pilfered from the Patriots. He began his career in 2000 as a graduate assistant at King’s College and made his NFL debut in 2006 with the Patriots as a defensive assistant. He is very close and known to Flores.

In 2009 Boyer became the DB’s coach with the Patriots. Some are surprised by Boyer leaving the Patriots as he has been a good coach with them. He coached the cornerbacks from 2012 to 2018. He has three Super Bowls wins with the Patriots.

Tony Oden – Safeties

Oden has a long coaching history starting back in 1996 with Millersville University of Pennsylvania. His first NFL job came in 2004 with the Houston Texans as defensive assistant. He would also coach for the Saints, Jaguars, Buccaneers and Lions, as a DB coach. In 2018 he joined the Dolphins and was retained by Flores. His time in Detroit was spent with Jim Caldwell.

Oden did very well last year with the Dolphins secondary despite having only one solid CB but he took that CB, Xavien Howard and made him a Pro-Bowl player.
