The Miami Dolphins are not quite done with linebacker Mike Hull re-signing him to a one year deal on Thursday.

The NFL career of Miami Dolphins linebacker Mike Hull has been up and down, and then up and then down again. This time it appears to be on the up. Hull re-signed with the Dolphins and gives Miami more depth at linebacker and helps the special teams unit.

Undrafted in 2015, Hull has been waived, re-signed to the practice squad, waived, re-signed to the practice squad, placed on IR, pulled off IR, and now with his contract having ended and facing free agency, Hull returns to the Dolphins.

In his three seasons with the Dolphins he has played in 16 game twice, 2016 and 2017, starting a total of four games. He missed most of 2018 with a knee injury being placed on IR and was not active once he was taken off the IR designation.

Appearing in three games his rookie season, Hull has one interception and one pass defensed adding 27 solo tackles and 15 assists primarily as a back-up. If he can stay healthy he should add some quality depth to the unit and participate on special teams.

An update on Robert Quinn has him finishing a visit with the New Orleans Saints but nothing is imminent on the trade front. The speculated price for a trade would be a 4th round draft pick in 2020 with the Dolphins taking on some of this years contract to facilitate the trade.

Quinn met with Dallas earlier this week but nothing has been finalized. The Dolphins opted to pay Quinn’s roster bonus of $1.8 million on the 3rd day of free agency. Releasing him would save the Dolphins $11.7 million in cap space but the Dolphins really don’t need cap room this  year as they are not spending much on the open market and don’t intend to.
