The AFC East finished week seven of the NFL season and nothing has changed in the standings as the Patriots remain on top and the Dolphins on the bottom.

After seven weeks of the NFL season, there have been some movers and shakers around the NFL but in the AFC East, it has been the same status quo for weeks now. After the 7th week everything remains the same.

The Patriots sit atop the East division with a perfect 7-0 record. It is the deepest in a season they have gone unbeaten since starting 7-0 in 2015. This year their defense is considerably better but their opponents have been a joke.

Consider that the seven wins have come against teams that all have losing records, sans one. In week one the Patriots played the Steelers who at the time had Ben Roethlisberger. The Patriots were able to beat down the visitors on opening weekend. The only team with a winning record was the Bills.

Buffalo, who played most of the game without their starting quarterback, held the Patriots to only 16 points and lost by six. The remainder of the Patriots wins came against the one win Jets, twice, the one win Redskins, the two win Giants, and the winless Dolphins. Their schedule will start to get a bit harder. We will know then if the Patriots are simply an unbeaten team because of who they played or if they are legit threat to the Dolphins unbeaten season.

On Monday night the Patriots made the Jets look like a high-school football team but in reality, Adam Gase made QB Sam Darnold look like a Pop Warner quarterback. Gase is really that bad.

The Dolphins and the Bills played a close game until, again, the fourth quarter when turnovers gave the Bills points and the Dolphins couldn’t produce any. Miami scored the most points they have all season, 21, in the losing effort.

The loss keeps Miami winless and puts the Bills in 2nd place at 5-1. The Jets hold down the third spot with a 1-5 record.

The Jets and Miami will play in two weeks in Adam Gase’s first return to South Florida since being fired at the end of last season.
