27.  Philadelphia Eagles (1-2-1

After leading Washington 17-0, the Eagles allowed their opponent to score 27 unanswered points to start the season.  QB Carson Wentz has looked terrible so far this season (4 touchdowns versus 7 interceptions).  The Eagles currently lead the horrid NFC East but, with games the next two weeks versus Pittsburgh and Baltimore, they will need to seriously up their game if they want to stay there.

Preseason ranking:  14

28.  Atlanta Falcons (0-4)

Losses against Chicago, Green Bay and Seattle are forgivable but losing how they lost the Dallas game was ridiculous.  Teams lose 19 point second half leads but what they don’t do is have six players stand around and watch the opponent fall on an onside kick.  Once again, QB Matt Ryan is playing well but he needs help from their 23rd ranked rushing attack.

Preseason ranking:  19

Next. Miami Dolphins will keep 13K fans for next home game. dark

29.  Houston Texans (0-4)

It might be surprising to see the winless Texans not at the bottom of these rankings; especially considering they have already fired their head coach Bill O’Brien.  Truth is that the Texans have played some really good teams and been more competitive than their record indicates.  Unfortunately for Dolphins fans, the Texans aren’t destined to stay winless much longer.

Preseason ranking:  13

30.  Washington Football Team (1-3)
The truth is that Washington just isn’t very good.  After beating a slumping Eagles team in week one, the team has lost their last three games by two touchdowns or more.  QB Dwayne Haskins is an easy target but he’s getting no help from the 30th ranked rushing attack or from a defense allowing 28 points-per-game.

Preseason ranking:  31

31.  New York Jets (0-4)

It would be easy/convenient/petty to put the Jets last in the rankings.  They deserve it  considering that “offensive guru”, and old friend, Adam Gase’s team has only scored more than 17 points in one contest this season.  Meanwhile the defense has given up 32.8 points-per-game (30th in the NFL).

Preseason ranking:  25

The only reason they aren’t last is because…..

32.  New York Giants (0-4)

The Giants have definitely been the worst team in the NFL thru 4 games this season.  Granted, they have played some pretty good teams but an offense that is averaging a staggering 11.8 points is just terrible.  The schedule does lighten up a little over the next month (after all, they have to play teams in their division eventually) so it’s possible they could emerge from the ranks of the winless in the near future.

Preseason ranking:  28

There you have it!
