The Miami Dolphins are rebuilding their franchise and after two trades made today, they are certain to keep the influx of college talent coming.

Miami has made two big trades today but we need to go back to a bong video that made all of this happen. In 2016 the number one overall projected player was Laremy Tunsil but in the hour before the draft was to begin, a video of Tunsil smoking a bong-gas-mask surfaced. Tunsil would fall all the way to the 13th spot where the Dolphins would jump on the opportunity.

Tunsil’s first year in the NFL was at left guard next to Branden Albert. He moved to left tackle the following year and anchored the left side of the line for two seasons. Then, the phone in Chris Grier’s office rang.

Grier told Houston that he wasn’t interested in trading his top left tackle but Bill O’Brien continued to make the offer and eventually, Grier was offered two first-round picks and two second-round picks for Tunsil and Kenny Stills.

Miami used one first and one-second last year but this year the last first-round pick in that trade became the third overall thanks to a horrible season by the Texans in 2020. Now, that pick has netted the Dolphins an additional third-round pick and a 2023 first-round pick after a series of trades with the 49’ers and Eagles.

The bong video was the catalyst to the Dolphins’ fortunes. It has netted the Dolphins a total of four first-round picks, two second-round picks, and a third-round pick.

I have a feeling that we are not done seeing these picks moved around again which would mean that the trade of Laremy Tunsil could go down as the biggest and best trade in Miami’s entire history. Of course, at some point, you have to use the draft picks and those players will need to work out.
