2 years ago the hottest topic around the Miami Dolphins fanbase was Brian Flores and after two years, he still remains a polarizing figure.

So what’s changed? Nothing. Brian Flores remains a hot topic in the Miami Dolphins fan circles and for all the right reasons. It is hard to believe he has only been here two seasons.

In June of 2019, we were talking about what his defense might look like, what the offense might look like, and why in the hell did the Dolphins not draft a quarterback in round one but instead traded for Josh Rosen with their second pick in round two?

We all knew that the first season was going to be a rough one but it wasn’t as bad as we all thought. In fact, most wanted it to be bad enough so Miami could draft Joe Burrow but instead, we “settled” for Tua Tagovailoa.

Last year was an impressive 10-win season and it appears that the Dolphins are heading in the right direction, finally. Still, we find ourselves talking about Flores quite a bit.

He is becoming more and more popular in the Miami community. A video surfaced a could of weeks of him entering a Florida Panther hockey game riling out the crowd. He seems as though he is someone that others gravitate towards and we know that the players seem to have a lot of respect for him.

The 2021 season isn’t a make-or-break season for Flores. He will run this year with Tagovailoa at QB and will look to improve by one game in the hopes of making the post-season but this team fails this year, he won’t be on the hot seat.

Flores won’t feel the heat until after the 2022 season should the Dolphins fail this year and next and that is the way it should be. Flores has done a good job up until now with little upper talent, that is going to change as well. If Flores can develop the players that have been drafted since 2019 and the handful remaining from the previous coaching staff, he will have all the tools to make this team a contender.
