Similar to another recent article of mine about potential corners the Miami Dolphins should be interested in, I believe there are two guys the Miami Dolphins should go after, but not overpay, and one veteran that should be a safe backup plan.

Here is the first guy which is the homerun swing if they want to take it.

27-year-old Denver Bronco Dalton Risner.

Last season in Denver he allowed only 3 sacks and committed only 1 penalty in 967 offensive snaps. That is BONKERS.

He will however command a good chunk of change to bring in. His market value on Spotrac is listed at $9.5 million per year and an expected contract in the 3-4 year range.

I think it is very reasonable given the cap space the Miami Dolphins can clear to think that $9.5 million for a very good left guard to lock down the entire left side of the offensive line would be a great move.

However, I can also understand not wanting to spend that money and rather going after a very good right tackle. Both are understandable, but I feel it is more likely in this year’s draft class to hit on a very good right tackle than it is to hit on a good left guard.

Dalton Risner is my top choice out of the bunch that there is, but there are options. So who else is there? Maybe we elect to get the guy who has proven unbelievable in the passing game.
