In case you haven't realized it….Football starts Sunday!

AUTHOR: Txmedic5 | IN: Dolphins, NFL | COMMENTS: None Yet

This is just a reminder, and to some it may simply smack you into reality, as it just did me.  This coming Saturday, as in 4 days from now, is the NFL Hall of Fame induction ceremonies.  Sunday, which is 5 days from now, is the first pre-season game.  A week later, a full slate of games on tap as week 1 of the pre-season gets under way.  That is only a mere 10 days from now…if your a Miami Dolphins fan.  Miami plays Jacksonville on August 11th.
O.k. 11 days from now.  The first game of that week is a [...]

Slow day at camp

AUTHOR: Txmedic5 | IN: Camp News, Dolphins | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Miami Dolphins are scheduled to practice this evening and the players are scheduled to do a fan autograph signing around 6ish at the training facility.  This mornings practice has been characterized as “exceptionally boring”.  One news reporter said he had just spent “X” amount of hours wasting his life, time he could not get back.
The Dolphins have seemingly been takeing it rather easy.  There have been some hits here and there, but the “oooohhhhs and ahhhhhhssss” have been relegated to sideline catches and non-contact Lorenzo Booker runs.  That of course will change.
Tonight many assume will be the first hard [...]

My thoughts on this weeks ATW subject

AUTHOR: Txmedic5 | IN: Dolphins | COMMENTS: None Yet

It was suggested that I write my thoughts on the subject matter for this weeks ATW.  The question is, “what will you be watching the most this training camp?“.
I have the answers to that question posted from various Miami Dolphin fan sites.  So now I will oblige the reader who suggested I do it as well.
I took the time to do a training camp breakdown on this site, position by position.  So in a way, I have a decent idea of what is important to me.  So I will break this down in cop-out fashion and anyone reading can feel [...]

ATW: What will you be watching most this TC?

AUTHOR: Txmedic5 | IN: Dolphins | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

The question posed to fans from all over the internet asked, “What will you watch the most of in training camp?”  The fans have responded, so without delay, here is this weeks ATW:  Around the Web!
From MiamiDolphinsInsider:
Todd:  “WR to me is the most interesting. Is the team going to start/demote/cut marty booker? Is Hagan going to start? How are Ginn/Hakim going to split playing time? Then we have the young longshots like Sutton/Malone/Sam. IMO, WR is the most wide open position in training camp.”
Irishfinfan: “If I was to pinpoint one thing it would be the rookies. This is [...]

TC: Day 3: AM

AUTHOR: Txmedic5 | IN: Dolphins | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Miami Dolphins have entered day 3 of their training camp.
Here are notes from the AM session:
LT Vernon Carey, LG Chris Liwienski, C Samson Satele, RG Drew Mormino and RT Anthony Alabi. – this is the starting oline this morning.
The starting line has been the same now for 3 days.  Alabi is still not 100 percent and can not run effectively.  With the situation the Dolphins are in with the offensive line, I wonder why the Oline has remained.  Greg Bedard of the Palm-Beach Post seems to find this concerning, and he cites the fact that Oline starters should be getting [...]

Quotes and notes from day 2

AUTHOR: Txmedic5 | IN: Dolphins | COMMENTS: None Yet

It seems that the Miami Dolphins are playing physical.  Practice yesterday turned into some thumping and grunting as the players got used to full pads.  Here are some Quotes from day 2 as well as some of the practice highlight notes as well.
Quote of the day belongs to Channing Crowder:

”Fans will start cheering like he just broke for 80 yards,” Crowder said in regards to long runs by the RBs. (they are not supposed to hit and let the RB go through them) “‘So we say, `OK, we’ll just knock the crap out of him.’ Fans don’t like that. Fans don’t cheer for [...]

1st Day standouts

AUTHOR: Txmedic5 | IN: Dolphins | COMMENTS: None Yet

It was only the first day of camp, but still, camp is camp and camp means football has returned to the world of Miami Dolphins fans…and if I could find a way to say camp is camp a few more times I would. But I camp…can’t sorry.
Brandon Fields – The rookie punter drew quite a few raised eye-brows when his kicks soared at times to 70 yards. YES, I said 70. It was reported by at least one media member that you “did not need to read a jersey number to see who was punting”. In [...]

Marion Dukes walks off team

AUTHOR: Txmedic5 | IN: Breaking News, Dolphins | COMMENTS: None Yet

Marion Dukes the rookie tackle for the Miami Dolphins has walked off the team.  Dukes will return to the Clemson Tigers as a student coach and finish his college degree according to the Miami Dolphins home page.
Head Coach Cam Cameron had this to say regarding Dukes:
“He came to me this morning and he’s going to go back and be a student assistant coach at Clemson,” Cameron said. “He’s a wonderful young man and we don’t feel like he’s running out on us. He had thought about it a great deal, didn’t want to waste our time and I respect him [...]

They said what?

AUTHOR: Txmedic5 | IN: Dolphins | COMMENTS: None Yet

Here are a few comments made by coaches and players following their first morning parctice of the the training camp.
Vonnie Holliday on rookie Lorenzo Booker:  “This guy is impressive, he’s fast I can’t wait to see him actually get into a preseason game and get some carries and some catches out of the backfield. He’s so quick … and his ability to make a move and get north and south is impressive.”
HC Cam Cameron on the first weeks of camp:  “Our major emphasis the first couple weeks of training camp’s going to be techniques and fundamentals. That’s the foundation we’re [...]
