Jeff Ireland is all but officially the new GM of the Miami Dolphins. To say he wants the job is probably an understatement. To say he is excited hits the nail on the head and that is exactly the enthusiasm the Miami Dolphins need right now.
Ireland will interview for the job on New Years day. When the call came from Bill Parcells asking if he wanted to fly to Miami, Ireland said he “Pumped his fist“.
“If I’m chosen to be there and to work with Bill, anybody in their right mind would jump at such a major opportunity,” Ireland said. [...]

St. Patricks day has arrived in the form of a Personel guru that Bill Parcells has tabbed to be the next Miami Dolphins GM. Today, the Dolphins VP of Operations requested and was granted permission to speak with Dallas Cowboys Jeff Ireland. It is widely speculated that Ireland will accept the position and will become the new GM vacated today when Randy Mueller was fired.
Most feared a fight from owner Jerry Jones in an attempt to protect themselves from losing a very respected talent evaluator. That would not be the case as Jones made no attempt to do so. Ireland [...]

The NFL Draft will be conducted in April, the Miami Dolphins are officially on the clock, the Jets are not in the top 5, and the Patriots pick in the 7th spot. All in all the order has been set sans playoff teams and a three way tie that will be settled by a coin toss.
Kansas City, Oakland, and Atlanta are reportedly tied for the 3rd through 5th positions and a coin toss will determine their fate at a later date. The draft order as it stands now:
1 – Miami
2 – St. Louis
3, 4, 5 – KC, Oakland, Atl
6 – [...]

It is unofficial. It is unannounced. Miami Dolphins General Manager Randy Mueller has been fired. The Dolphins have made no formal announcment and that announcement could come as early as today or as late as Wednesday.
Several witnesses saw Mueller driving away from the game 2 minutes left and was not in the locker-room after the game. Mueller will likely be replaced by Dallas Personell man, Jeff Ireland.
Presumably, Mueller was “unofficially” fired prior to the game. Parcells sat next to long time friend and football guru Ron Wolf during the game. Mueller nowhere to be seen. Mueller may be retained in a [...]

The Miami Dolphins finished the season on Sunday, along with the ending of one bad season comes a very likely departure of the teams captain and leader Jason Taylor. If that was the last game, then thank you JT…it was a wonderful opportunity to watch you for 11 years.Jason has cleared up one speculation for the off-season. He will not retire. ”I’m not retiring, I’m going to play football. I’m going to play football somewhere. I think I have a lot of gas left in my tank, a lot of tread left in my tires. I want to win.”
That leaves [...]

Update: PFT is reporting that Randy Mueller has been fired, if that is true, expect an announcement on Monday in light of Tuesday being New Years day. PFT is also reporting that Cam Cameron informed the team that he WILL be retained and back next year.
The Miami Dolphins finished today what has been the worst record in franchise history. The off-season officially has begun and with it the reality sets in that both Randy Mueller and Cam Cameron will be unemployed by Wednesday.
Cam Camerons’ one year tenure should come no later than Wednesday after he conducts the season exit physicals and, well, packs [...]

The Miami Dolphins have been swarmed with rumors for the last several years…so and so is gone, so and so is coming, they never die. With one rumor now reality, here are a few more to chew on as the Dolphins prepare to face off with the Bengals in perhaps the most meaningless game in the NFL this weekend. Unless of course your a Dolphins [...]

The rooms have soft lighting, a black leather couch sits in the middle of the room and an old maroon and gold high back chair sits across from it. Notepad in hand, the shrink asks, “tell me about your mother“. That will be the first days of Bill Parcells, new VP of Football Operations for the Miami Dolphins, who starts work today.
Parcells is expected to fly into Miami sometime early Thursday and begin a process of talking to the coaches, players, staff, and General Manager. He has said that he will “listen” and ask questions to get an idea of [...]
