On Tuesday night, On The FinSide held their annual Miami Dolphins mock draft and today I will add my selections to their list.

More from Dolphins Draft

Unfortunately I was unable to make the broadcast time so I will reveal my final 2016 Miami Dolphins selections to go along with their picks in the 7 rounds of this years NFL Draft. The draft will of course happen the final weekend of April and we will once again broadcast the first round (or at least the first two hours of the first round) live on Thursday night.

Making the selections along with me are my co-hosts Brian “Cat” Catanzaro. You can follow him on Twitter @BrianCat13 and Paul Picken, Jr. @Phinatic_pick. You can follow me at  @Txmedic5 or @Phinphanatic and our show @OnTheFinSide.

In the first round, all three of us split.

Eli Apple – Corner back – Ohio State

My selection is predicated on the belief that Ezekiel Elliot will be gone by the 13th spot. Baltimore at 6, Philadelphia at 8, and the Giants at 10 all could be landing spots for the best runner in this years class. Apple is a solid coverage corner who has the right size to play the outside in the NFL. His biggest draw back is that he tends to grab receivers and that could be a problem and definitely one that the Dolphins will have to coach out of him. Apple can play against bigger receivers but he lacks the top end speed to stay with them downfield and Miami will have to take that into consideration as well but there is little doubt to his physical style of play and his ability to make plays.

Cat’s pick – Eli Apple – cornerback, Ohio State

Paul’s pick – Reggie Ragland – linebacker, Alabama

While I agree with Cat on the Apple selection, I would not be disappointed to see the Dolphins draft Ragland. I believe that Ragland is going to have a very solid NFL career. He needs to work on his run support but has all the qualities you look for in an interior linebacker.
