Today is NFL Draft day and it kicks off at 8:00 eastern. With mock drafts winding down for the season, until the 2017 mocks kick up the dirt on Monday, it’s time for a final prediction of the first 13 draft selections.

More from Dolphins Draft

There have been a lot of mock drafts over the last several months and today final mocks are making their way into publication ahead of tonight’s draft. With the Miami Dolphins selecting 13, they should be able to get a top talent for their team. So it’s time to take a look, one final time, at how the draft could shape up for Miami.

1: Los Angeles Rams

Jared Goff – this is about as 100% as you can get without anyone formally announcing it. The first pick will be Goff or Carson Wentz but signs have been pointing to Goff the last few days.

2: Philadelphia Eagles

Carson Wentz – like the Rams this is guaranteed to be quarterback. If it’s not Wentz it will be Goff.

3: San Diego Chargers

Jalen Ramsey – The draft drama really begins here with pick 3. The Chargers are a wildcard and many are now saying that the team views offensive line more than a corner/safety. Laremy Tunsil is a real possibility but will the Chargers pass on the one player who many believe is this years only sure thing?

4: Dallas Cowboys

Ezekiel Elliot – A lot depends on what happens with the Chargers and the Cowboys will be entertaining trade offers for the full time allotment. There is a real possibility that the Cowboys do not make this selection and the Dolphins have been rumored to be interested in moving up to the 4th spot. Would they consider Ramsey here if he fell past the Chargers?

5: Jacksonville Jaguars

Myles Jack – It’s hard to not listen to the chatter that the Jaguars are zoned in on either an offensive tackle or a defensive end like DeForest Buckner but they have shown a lot of interest in Jack the past month.

6: Baltimore Ravens

Laremy Tunsil – The Ravens have to be thrilled if this works out this way. They need offensive line help and Tunsil is the best in this class. If the Chargers go Tunsil, the Ravens will go Ronnie Stanley.

7: San Francisco 49’ers

Ronnie Stanley – This is another spot that teams might try and trade up to. If Elliot is still on the board, don’t rule out Miami jumping up for him here. The 49’ers could also go with DeForest Buckner here as they need to improve their defensive front as well.

8: Cleveland Browns

Joey Bosa – The Browns are rumored to want Ezekiel Elliot but Bosa, a hometown kid would make a lot of sense for a Browns team that needs to keep their defense moving forward. The bigger question here is whether the Browns keep this pick. Miami has been rumored to be in talks with moving back up to 8 but that is only likely if Jack or Elliot fall this far.

9: Tamp Bay Buccaneers

DeForest Buckner – The Buc’s need corner help but they also need help with their pass rush. Buckner could go before Bosa and if that happens, the Bucs will likely go in that direction but it appears that corner back is not the option in this round.

10: New York Giants

Leonard Floyd – The Giants have been linked to Jack and Elliot as well as offensive line but over the last few days more and more believe Floyd will be the pick. He would bookend with Olivier Vernon and shore up their defensive edge rush immediately.

11: Chicago Bears

Shaq Lawson – this may be a little high for Lawson but like Floyd, he has value to this team. The Bears want to fix their defense and Lawson is the type of player that can produce quarterback pressure and sacks.

12: New Orleans Saints

Sheldon Rankins – The Saints have a lot or problems on defense and it starts with getting pass rush up the middle. The Saints were very poor against the run last year as well and Rankins is very good at stopping it.

13: Miami Dolphins

Vernon Hargreaves, III – The Dolphins would be very lucky if this draft puts Hargreaves in their sites at 13. Miami may view this as an opportunity to drop back a few spots and still land William Jackson, III or Eli Apple later in round one so it bears watching. Hargreaves is the top prospect at Miami’s biggest position of need and if he is there, the Dolphins would be smart to select him.

Key to this top 13

What happens at pick 3 will deterimine what happens with the next five picks. Jalen Ramsey would improve the Chargers but so would offensive line. If San Diego doesn’t take Ramsey, the Cowboys will which will move Elliot down the draft line. In fact, if the Cowboys take Ramsey, Elliot could slide to Cleveland which could initiate the trade talks with the Dolphins.
