Best players left for the Miami Dolphins on Day 2 of the 2020 NFL Draft
Free Safeties
Xavier McKinney, Alabama
Antoine Winfield Jr, Minnesota
Grant Delpit, LSU
Given what’s currently on the Dolphins roster, this is probably the biggest need heading into day 2. Minkah Fitzpatrick was traded and Reshad Jones was released so the team has no starting-caliber free safety on the roster. Since it wasn’t addressed in round one like expected, it’s a pretty sure thing that it will be addressed in round 2.
McKinney is the most complete safety of these three. He has experience roaming the back end of the secondary, coming up to play the run, and even blitzed a bit at Alabama. Prediction: Very early round 2

Injuries plagued Winfield Jr for two seasons at Minnesota before being able to put a complete season together in 2019. When he did, Winfield showed an uncanny nose for the ball; gathering 7 INTs. Because of his injury history and size, the Dolphins should only envision him playing free safety. Prediction: Mid round 2
Delpit had a subpar 2019 which sent his stock plummeting from a potential top 15 pick in the 2019 draft to a probably 2nd round pick that maybe even slips into the 3rd. A reputation for poor tackling has hounded him all year. Prediction: Late 2nd/3rd round.
