Miami Dolphins story line #3: Is Terron Armstead out there?

The news of the off-season for the Dolphins was deservedly centered around Tyreek Hill, but if Terron Armstead performs to the best of his abilities, he’ll be the most important acquisition for Miami in some time.

Brought in to help fix what was a dismal offensive line in 2022, Armstead comes with a Pro Bowl pedigree, but a concerning injury history. He played in just eight games this past season, after suffering both knee and elbow ailments throughout the campaign. He had surgery early in 2022 that made teams look carefully at him as a potential investment.

The Dolphins took the risk, and it could end up laying massive dividends, if the player is available of course.

Armstead will not only be a key piece on the field on Sundays, but he’ll also be instrumental in helping teach the younger guys how to play the position. As evidenced by training footage released over the summer, he has a lot of technique to teach, and his presence will be vital.

Is he going to be active for the first week of training camp? Doubtful. Veterans coming off of injuries and surgeries typically take their time getting back in to football activities, especially ones as important to his team as Armstead is.

Don’t be surprised to see Armstead on the inactive list for the opening days of camp, but be less surprised if he’s out there helping to coach up his teammates.
