Miami Dolphins observations from Week 6

6. It isn’t (totally) Jaylen Waddle’s fault

It is easy to point to one play and place the blame for the loss on a single incident, and Jaylen Waddle’s late-game fumble was certainly a backbreaker. But we shouldn’t put him at fault for the loss.

Waddle had one of the top WR performances in the league on Sunday, accumulating 129 yards and making some big catches as Miami attempted a comeback in the fourth quarter. After being nearly absent in the box score the last couple of weeks, it was nice to see him getting back for form, and hopefully his shoulder injury doesn’t become an issue for the coming games.

7. Tyreek Hill was right about getting his numbers

In a press conference a couple of weeks ago, Tyreek Hill was asked if he was worried about getting his statistics potentially regressing with backup quarterbacks, and he answered by saying that he would get his numbers with anyone throwing him the ball. So far, he has been correct.

After something of an “off” game last week, Hill exploded for 12 catches and 177 yards against the Vikings, making it one of the top statistical games of his career. If he and Tua Tagovailoa are both able to remain healthy, then Hill should have no problem contending for the league lead in receiving yards come season’s end.
