Time To Look At Miami Dolphins Mock Drafts

facebooktwitterreddit

Free agency hasn’t started yet but that doesn’t mean the NFL Draft isn’t atop the conversation list by the water cooler. For the Miami Dolphins the NFL Draft and free agency are one in the same and not always does addressing a need in free agency rule out addressing that same need in the draft.

More from Dolphins Draft

Over the next several months a lot of mock drafts will be going up around not only the internet but our network as well. FanSided has it’s own mock draft site, NFLMocks.com and they have a new mock to share with the rest of the NFL sites and their readers.  In this latest mock draft, Sayre Bedinger has the Miami Dolphins taking, well let’s do this right shall we?

"With the 14th pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins…according to Sayre Bedinger of NFLMocks.com selects…defensive tackle Eddie Goldman, Florida."

Bedinger says that the Dolphins have some aging defensive lineman and that is one of the reasons why he has Miami going in this direction but in reality the Dolphins are looking at the possibility of losing Jared Odrick to free agency and may part ways with an underperforming Randy Starks. The real reason the Dolphins need a defensive lineman is they were atrocious in the final six games of the season where they gave up startling numbers to opposing running backs.

  • The Dolphins have a lot of needs on defense and while it’s possible that the team goes with defensive tackle the consensus thus far is linebacker. Bedinger has Shaq Thompson going before Miami’s pick but there are some who believe that Berardrick McKinney of Mississippi State could be an ideal fit for the Dolphins as well.

I’m not into bashing anyone’s opinion regarding draft picks three months before the draft and Bedinger’s opinion on this may not be 100% spot on but he is on the right track. The Dolphins need to stop the run and whether that comes by adding a young defensive tackle or a run stopping athletic linebacker will be something to watch. That is where free agency comes into play so by the time the draft rolls around we will have a clearer idea about Bedingers crystal ball.
