Miami made some good moves during this years draft. Here are grades for every player selected.

More from Dolphins Draft

Miami had a good draft overall. They took chances on the players that they liked and were not afraid to go get them. If three to four of these players pan out this draft will go from good to great.

Overall Draft Grade- B

Laremy Tunsil-A

The Dolphins got the best value pick in the first round when they selected Laremy Tunsil. He is a top five talent that fell to 13. He is expected to start at one of the guard spots and should help solve the offensive line issues Miami has faced the last four years.

Xavien Howard-B

Howard is a big physical corner that will play well in the Dolphins press scheme. Miami expects him to start opposite of Byron Maxwell. He may have been a little bit of a reach in the second, but Miami needed a player who can come in and start right away.

Kenyan Drake-B

Drake is a fast, change of pace back that will help by spelling Jay Ajayi. His ability in the return game helps increase his value. In order to see more playing time he needs to shore up his blocking.

Leonte Carroo-C

Carroo has the ability to be a playmaker similar to Jarvis Landry. The question is how much playing time and immediate impact he will have.

Jakeem Grant- C

Grant has incredible speed and quickness and could be a great value in the return game. Other than his return abilities he won’t make much of an impact.

Jordan Lucas -C

Lucas is a big physical defensive back that could compete for a corner position. With two open corner positions, Lucas could find playing time.

Brandon Doughty-C

The Dolphins need a quality backup and Doughty could develop into just that. He has the accuracy and IQ to make a good developmental QB

Thomas Duarte-D

Essentially a big, fast wide receiver, Duarte can be a mismatch. The question is if he will even make the team. Miami could have addressed LB with this pick and selected Scooby Wright.
