The Dolphins travel to New York to battle the Jets in an important AFC East battle. With Matt Moore starting at quarterback in place of Tannehill, is there anyone on the roster worth starting in fantasy football lineups?

The Miami Dolphins will travel to MetLife Stadium on Saturday to face the Jets in the first of three straight division games that will make or break the Dolphins season. Historically, the Dolphins do not do well in cold weather games. Kickoff on Saturday night is expected to be in the high 30’s. With that said, the Dolphins will still be favored on the road even with Matt Moore as the starter.

More from Dolphins Fantasy Football

Moore has not started a game for Miami in five years, but he is their longest active quarterback and well familiar with the game plan. While it would be great to see Moore and the Dolphins get a victory and keep their playoff hopes alive, question marks loom as to how Moore will handle the offense. That uncertainty and the cold weather make this game unappealing in fantasy football leagues, particularly with league playoffs well under way. Here is the start/sit edition for Miami in Week 15.

Matt Moore

I’ll make it short and sweet regarding Moore this week. While very capable of throwing a couple of touchdown passes in this one, the question marks surrounding how Moore will handle the offense compared to Ryan Tannehill makes him a must sit. Fantasy league playoffs are under way in almost every format, and it’s not the time to screw around with one of the more important positions. There is the chance he picks up right where Tannehill left off, but it’s not as if Tannehill was a great fantasy option week-to-week. Better streaming options are available even in the deepest of leagues.

Sit

Jay Ajayi

Ajayi has taken a fantasy dive in the last five games. His last big performance…against the Jets in Week 9. Miami will surely attempt every way possible to get their ground game going, starting with Ajayi. Mixed with the uncertainty of Moore and the cold weather, it’s not delusional to think Ajayi will receive 20+ touches on Saturday night. Add in the fact that Moore may look to dump off to his lead back on passing downs, and Ajayi’s fantasy value gets a bigger boost. Not to play spoiler for the rest of the article, but Ajayi is the only Dolphin I’m considering targeting this week.

Start

Jarvis Landry / DeVante Parker / Kenny Stills

With Tannehill on the shelf, it looks like a missed opportunity for all three of Miami’s lead receivers. They all could be in for a big game if Tannehill were playing against a Jets defense ranked 22nd in the league in passing yards allowed. All three receivers had dud performances in their Week 9 matchup, but much of that can be blamed on the success of the run game.

Jets CB Darrelle Revis is not the player he once was, and has been burned quite often this year by opposing receivers. I expect one of these receivers to find some chemistry with Moore, but who that is remains to be seen. Again, it’s not worth the risk with so many question marks surrounding the offense. Even in desperate need, it’s best to find a streaming option with a better matchup.
