New Dolphins Reality Series: Scout Swap

AUTHOR: Txmedic5 | IN: Dolphins, Off-Topic/Other | COMMENTS: None Yet

Chris Grier and Ron Labadie have “swapped” positions with the Miami Dolphins. It’s not officially being called a swap, that doesn’t exactly sound all that PC, but in reality that is exactly what Cam Cameron has done in his reassigning of the two.
Labadie served as the Director of College Scouting while Grier served as the Assistant Director of College Scouting. Flip flop the two and there you have what the new positions are.
No word yet as to why the change is being made now. I could however, surmise, that Labadie may have asked for the change to [...]

A: “No, I only want to play for Miami”
Q: “Trent, Atlanta may want you to play for them, will you go?”

For the most part, that, in a nutshell is the last 2 months. There is a lot of [...]

Hey Guess what? It's time for June Cuts

AUTHOR: Txmedic5 | IN: Dolphins, NFL, Off-Topic/Other | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

It used to be. June 1st cuts no longer carry the excitement of years past. Last year June 1 was a quiet day. This year is likely to be no different.
For the last few years there has been the ESPN talk of June 1 cuts, the speculation of who will be available and who won’t. Not this year. The crickets chirping is so noisy that only a couple of names can be heard, and they are followed by even louder “Maybe’s”.
This year, names like Robert Ferguson, the GB WR and Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila the GB DE, are [...]

Breaking News: Joey Porter pays fine

AUTHOR: Txmedic5 | IN: Breaking News, Dolphins, NFL | COMMENTS: None Yet

Joey Porter has paid a 1,000 dollar fine for punching Bengal lineman Levi Jones in an altercation in Las Vegas shortly after signing with the Miami Dolphins.
Porter did not appear in court on the misdemeanor battery charge and through his attorney entered a plea of “No Contest”.
Commissioner Roger Goodell has made no ruling or official decision on the incident and there has only been media speculation that Goodell may fine or suspend Porter for his actions.

DHL, Dolphins, Cheerleaders

AUTHOR: Txmedic5 | IN: Dolphins, Off-Topic/Other, Video | COMMENTS: None Yet

DHL is now the official carrier of the Miami Dolphins. What does that mean? I suppose it means that the Dolphins will not be using Federal Express or UPS. What does this really mean? Nothing, but it is an excuse to post a commercial featuring the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders. Enjoy:

Lawerence Phillips back in the news

AUTHOR: Txmedic5 | IN: Dolphins, NFL, Off-Topic/Other | COMMENTS: None Yet

Former Miami Dolphins RB, Lawerence Phillips is back in the news as his sentencing for an October 2006, 7 count conviction of assault with a deadly weapon, is set for Thursday.
Phillips was charged with the felony after running over a group of teenagers with a vehicle after an argument ended a touch football game. 3 of the teens were hurt. The incident occurred in August of 2005 and was only the cap on a life of dotted arrests for Phillips.
The former standout RB for the Nebraska Cornhuskers was drafted 6th overall by the St. Louis Rams. Phillips [...]

Jason Taylor: Q & A

AUTHOR: Txmedic5 | IN: Dolphins | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Jason Taylor spoke with AM radio station 760 ESPN yesterday and his interview was posted yesterday in the Sun-sentinel by Harvey Fialkov.
He speaks of Super Bowl aspirations, playing for the Miami Dolphins for free, and Daunte Culpepper. He also has a really nice one liner about Ricky Williams at the end.
Would you agree to play for free if it meant the Dolphins would make the playoffs?
JT: Playoffs, no, Super Bowl, yes. I’ve been to the playoffs before, our goal is not to make the playoffs, it’s to win the Super Bowl. [Our goal is] not to win 10 games [...]

Lemon signs contract

AUTHOR: Txmedic5 | IN: Breaking News, Dolphins | COMMENTS: None Yet

Cleo Lemon has signed his RFA tender contract. Lemon is the last of the RFAs that the Miami Dolphins had tendered offers to.
Lemons contract is for 1.3 million dollars, and will make him a free agent next year if not signed long term.
Cleo Lemon has participated in all of the Miami off-season workouts, mini-camps, OTA’s, and voluntary work. He signed an injury waiver prior to the first mini-camp.
Lemon was brought to Miami in the deal that sent a 6th round draft pick and A.J. Feeley to San Diego. He will now be the only healthy veteran [...]

Can Chambers finally break through?

AUTHOR: Txmedic5 | IN: Dolphins | COMMENTS: None Yet

Don’t start throwing out the fact that 2 years ago Chris Chambers was in the Pro-Bowl. That was a very good year for him, but consistency is the key to anyones success, and Chambers has not shown that.
Excuses are out the window now. He is moving from Z receiver to X receiver in an attempt to be freed up in more mismatched coverage. It is designed to enable Chambers to use his speed more, to become explosive. To catch more balls. OR, drop more if 2 years ago was only a fluke.
Chris Chambers finished a [...]

Marquise Hill's body recovered

AUTHOR: Txmedic5 | IN: Breaking News, NFL, Off-Topic/Other | COMMENTS: None Yet

ESPN News has reported that the body of NE Patriots DE, Marquise Hill has been recovered from Lake Pontchatrain. Hill went missing Sunday night after an accident involving the Jet Ski he was operating.
Hill was a 2004 2nd round draft pick of the NE Patriots.
All of us here at Phin Phanatic pass along our prayers to his family and friends.

Ginn finally to report on June 7th

AUTHOR: Txmedic5 | IN: Dolphins | COMMENTS: None Yet

Ted Ginn Jr, ahem, Ted Ginn without the Jr., is finally ready to join the Miami Dolphins for off-season work. Under NCAA rules, Ginn cannot join his NFL team until after his class graduates, which is on June 7th. One day before the start of the Dolphins next mini-camp.
However, Ginn is still nursing a sore ankle and will be limited in practices if he does anything at all.
Coach Cameron though has said, once again, “he (Ginn) is coming here as a returner first. Then as a receiver.”
That of course will likely, once again, stir up the pot of fans [...]

Dolphins busy this past week

AUTHOR: Txmedic5 | IN: Dolphins, Rumors | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Go figure! I go on vacation and something actually happens while I am gone. No, no, no….it wasn’t a trade for Trent Green, that soap opera is still playing out.
I have decided, after spending a week away in sunny south Florida, to do a weekly review of all the news involving the Miami Dolphins. Although some of the issues and news bits will be posted throughout the week, this will be an opportunity to recap that information in short entries at the end of every week. This will be the first, appropriate since I have been [...]

Breaking News: NE Patriots DE Marquise Hill missing

AUTHOR: Txmedic5 | IN: Breaking News, NFL, Off-Topic/Other | COMMENTS: None Yet

DE Marquise Hill, a 2004 2nd round draft pick by the NE Patriots is missing and is being linked to a missing man in Lake Pontchartrain.
Although the following article, linked here, does not claim that the missing jet skier is in fact Hill, a scrolling news flash at the top of the article identifies Hill as missing.
This is sad, or for now, potentially saddening news.  I am sure that I can speak for all of us here at PhinPhanatic.com as well as all of our affiliated sites, when I say our hopes, prayers, and best wishes are extended to [...]
