No. 2 – Bob Baumhower
Bob Baumhower didn’t have as much time in as some, but he is still one of the longest tenured defensive linemen in Miami Dolphins history.

The anchor of the “Killer B’s” defense pieced together about 750 career tackles while serving as the nose tackle. He posted in the neighborhood of 27.5 sacks as a Dolphin.
Baumhower was named to five Pro Bowls and received First Team All-Pro honors in 1983.
He was an absolute turnover machine. He managed to recovery 16 fumbles during his nine-year career with the Dolphins and ran two of those recoveries back for touchdowns as well. He also has one career interception.
As Baumhower went, so did the Dolphins. Miami made it to the playoffs in every season Baumhower was selected to the Pro Bowl. And, of course, the Dolphins made it to two Super Bowls in 1982 and 1984 and nearly did so again in 1985. During that time, the Killer B’s were a top five ranked defense in points, yards allowed, takeaway/giveaway ratio.
Baumhower started all but one of his 130 appearances and started all 11 games in the postseason. He missed the entire 1985 season rehabbing his knee after surgery then missed the first four games of the 1986 season with a groin injury.
Thanks to the gritty, thankless work of Baumhower the Dolphins’ defense of the 80s was one of the best in franchise history. Truly, Baumhower is the greatest defensive tackle in franchise history.
