The Miami Dolphins were owned by these next three players over history against them.

10.  Nate Clements, CB, Buffalo Bills (2001-06)

While most people would think someone like Darrelle Revis or Ty Law would hold the record for most interceptions against the Dolphins it is in fact Buffalo’s Nate Clements.  In 12 games as a Bill, Clements intercepted Miami quarterbacks 9 times.  He would be higher on the list except neither team was playing for much because this was the beginning of the Patriots dynasty.

9.  Kellen Winslow Sr., TE, San Diego Chargers (1979-87)

Back in the early ’80s, Kellen Winslow Sr. was a major weapon at the tight end position for the Chargers (like Rob Gronkowski or Travis Kelce are today).  Whenever Winslow played the Dolphins, his presence was felt.  His Chargers won both games the two teams played during the regular season (in 1980 and 1986) it’s Winslow’s ‘Herculean’ effort during the Chargers 41-38 OT victory in the Divisional Round game in 1982 that puts Winslow on this list.

After figuratively ‘carrying’ the Chargers with 13 receptions, 166 yards, one touchdown, AND blocking a potential game-winning Dolphins field goal in overtime, Winslow needed to be literally carried off the field by teammates due to exhaustion.

8.  Wes Welker, WR, New England Patriots (2007-12), Denver Broncos (2014)

Having played only 12 games against the Dolphins, nobody did more damage against the Dolphins in such a short period of time as Wes Welker.  He is second in receptions (99), 5th in receiving (1196 yards), and put up 100-yards receiving in exactly half the games he played against Miami.

Welker’s stats and record against the Dolphins (10-2) hurts even more when you consider that Miami knew what they had in him when they let him go in 2006.
